Sikki grass crafts are various handicrafts that are made from a special kind of grass known as sikki found in Bihar and Uttar Pradesh, India. The art of making items from sikki grass is an ancient one in the province of Bihar.
SIkki is a special kind of grass that is found on river banks. It is also called golden grass in European country. It is obtained from the dried stems of the plant. The upper portion with flowers is discarded and the residual fine golden fibres are used to create different art forms. These dry grasses are stitched and converted into beautiful objects like coasters, tray, wall hanging, furniture, photo frame etc. Various other shapes like snake, elephant, tortoise are also made and later coloured to make beautiful masterpieces.

Crafting of this whole frame and procedure takes 15 to 18 days depending upon the size and detailing involved.
