** A note about paper beads and water. The paper beads are finished with an adhesive glaze to make a glossy finish, which makes the beads water resistant but not completely waterproof. would not immerse them in water for any length of time, but otherwise they should last for many years of enjoyment. Not recommended for the pool, but a little rain is ok.
